pup conundrum
awright...here's my prob...
i'm looking to put a new pup system in my strat project (the green meanie) but i'm low on cash. if i go the HSS route, i was gonna get a new humbucker but use the mid and neck pup from a squier SE unit and use a new orange drop cap to smooth out the highs.
or...
should i go SSS route where i can use the whole setup from the SE unit but just upgrade the pots, switch, and cap?

If you go the HSS route, won't you also need to upgrade the pots, switch, and caps? You could just do those upgrades now, and save up for the 'bucker and new pickguard later. Unless you fall in love with the SSS, then you're only out the money for the electronics upgrades.
