Made a roadtrip a couple of weeks ago and bought this HSS pickguard. Man selling it told me it came off of an American Strat. I'm thinking factory single coil/humbucker setup. Wrong! Two AP11s,one C22B,one volume and one tone with a series/parallel toggle switch for the 'bucker. installed it in my 2002 Squier Strat, restrung it,and

! Played it through a Marshall MG10KK clean and dirty. Awesome tone. Raised the pickup heights, dimed the knobs on my '68 SFPR and got some cavity-induced SWEET overdrive!
I've had the mindset that unless a pickup was a premium factory,SD,DiMarzio,or a beautique pup it would essentially sound like s**t. Boy was I wrong. Both single coils and one coil on the humbucker have eleven adjustable polepieces.
Started out with the polepieces flat on all three and I'm still playing around with polepiece height and pup height just because these pickups are so versatile.
Now if Carvin would make some Tele bridge pickups.
