I need inspiration...
I have this stagemaster sitting around and it needs to have something done with it.
I had a set of EMGs in it and they were a little generic for my tastes. I am contemplating a few things on it.. First off I am contemplating on going back to a triple hum setup as pictured. The other option is going a 3 pickup set of lil killers from GFS. I am trying to stay with hums on this one because the other one I have is staying with singles.
If I go Lil Killers I will need a new pickguard and that thing (8 hole vintage with a 3 single rout and a floyd rose) is about as rare as hens teeth anymore unless you have one custom cut.
Ideas anyone?

A couple of Dimarzio cream-color Hums of your choice in neck and bridge and an Dimarzio SH-5 (stacked humb) in the middle. Would scream a touch of class into you joker purple beast .... jmo

I am impressed with the matching blue color pickups. I don't remember seeing that before. Guitar looks nice

Yh, I'd stick with the scratchplate at hand. Get some fancy full-size Humbuckers, dunno if a stacked SC is a great idea, might be HB tone overkill although some LPs have trip HB formats which I believe are cool and work...
My main thought is the Joker aesthetic is really fun and cool. Personally, I'd keep the setup with the matching PUPs in Purple/White, Purple, White/Purple. Or reach for some crazy Ibanez JEM pickups in Pink and Green, which might add to the Joker feel or (as my common sense seems to be screaming) will look silly with a large order of garish. I'd definitely get some Joker coloured knobs, green probably.
...THINKS...
Oh wait... classic Joker scheme:
-Hair:Green
-Face:White
-Smile:Red
-Eyes:Black
-Shirt:Yellow-ish
-Waistcoat:Green
-Coat:Purple
-Trousers:Purple
How should this transfer? Like so:
-Strings:Green
-Scratchplate:White
-Scratchplate:Red smile painted on it (no eyes though... you'll read why)
-Humbuckers:Black (here are your eyes, so co ordinate the smile with it)
Optionally, go for a Red PUP selector (Red tip+maybe paint a Red smile around it) and add Black knobs.
OR
-Humbuckers: Zebra coils. Black coils act as the eyes. Other coil as White blends in, as Cream it'd fill the "Shirt" part.
-Single Coil:White
-Knobs:Green (or Black if you think they'd work better as eyes).
-Body:Purple
I'd definitely go for:
-Zebra coils in Black and White or all-black HBs.
-Keep the body colour and Scratchplate.
-White PUP selector tip with Green Knobs.
-Keep the Middle PUP White replaced or otherwise.
-Get some Green Strings.
-Paint a wicked Red smile on it... or use a sticker... or a stencil... a marker pen (?) even if it does scratch off, it'd look cool.

The guard is a 3x humbucker right now. I need to either go 3 hums or get a new pickguard. I was almost thinking of going with a HSS style but then again I already have a single coil guitar.
Bill that truely sounds horrific. I am trying to get away from the 20something look it has and class it back up a little. I am thinking of stripping the stickers off and leaving it purple. I am dreading the look of it though if the paint has faded. It might get a repaint.
I still can't find a decent place for a pickguard.

LMFAO I know... my bad.
Trip HBs eh...
HB/HB-sized P90/HB?
Use a 5-way Super switch to coil split in the 2nd and 4th positions?
Push/pulls? A push/pull to coil split both at the same time?
I wonder what colour HBs would contrast well...?
DiMarzios are a primo idea, for sure.
Methinks anything Open coil should look damn cool. For the control knobs and stuff I'd just pick from what you've already got... probably those black ones you had in the "tasty" pic
You could get very crazy and shove Quad-rails in the bridge or something

I actually sold the EMGs in that picture. They were VERY generic sounding. I want some character in the tone from this guitar.
