I have been wanting a Les Paul style guitar forever and now the wait is finally over. I found a Jay Turser les Paul the other day that i couldnt pass up. It was advertised as used but when it got here it looks brand new, like it has never been played. The plastic was still on the pick guard and the two covers on the back. Not even any buckle rash on the back. So far i am REALLY liking this guitar. Heres the only pic i have of it for now.
Congrats, Ya can't have too many guitars..Those are very good guitars.I have one in white.Love it.I've also got the Colonel in white with gold metal works.Real nice jazzer..
I dont have much experience with Les Pauls but this is VERY similar in every way to the last Epiphone i played. The feel and weight are just as i remember. Hard to say about the sound for sure. I have never played a Les paul through my amp before (Vox VT50) but it does seem to have that classic Les Paul tone. I always wanted an Epiphone (cant afford a Gibson) but i think this is just as nice as the Epi standard i almost bought.

I have to admit I'd like a LP as well. I have fond memories of sitting down with a bright blue Les Paul Standard (a real Gibson) at Driver Music in Oklahoma City back in the 1980s and getting the sweetest, infinite feedback sustain, at a very low volume.
I think, if the truth be told, besides my Strat, I want a Les Paul, a 335, and a Tele.
My wife's gonna kill me.

I figure a used intermediate grade guitar, purchased at a reasonable price - I can play it for a while and if I want I can probably sell it for about cost. Even if I lose $ 50 on the deal that's nothing compared to the amount of money I might spend going places. I'm home playing guitar, maybe playing music with friends, saving some money and having a wonderful time.
I remember owning a Hondo Les Paul copy that sounded almost as good as my Gibson Les Paul Standard. The Gibson did sound better, but they both sounded very good.
I use to own a Jay Turser les paul copy thatl had the Dragon inlaythe whole length of the fretboard. Bad @$$ little guitar but the high E string had a buzz to it that I couldn't fix. I miss it though

Nice LP. I just bought a 2004 Epi LP Standard for my self. i really need to take some pictures and post them for you gys.
Does anyone hae any experience witht he Jay Turser Strats? There are a couple around my place in Pawn shops that are not priced to badly. What are thy like?
Hondo II! Oh, wow, tickle my memory banks, why don'cha? I had a tobaccoburst Hondo II and a white one. For about $100 each in 1979 or so they weren't bad, but they pale next to my Squier. Now I want an Epiphone Dot 335 copy and LP gold top. Oh, and the "Esquier" referred to in another thread.

Me too ! I found a DeArmond M-65 for $50.00 that felt "perfect" as soon as I got it in my hands. The high gloss neck is wicked fast and smooth. It has a clean, bright tone and sustain out the ying/yang despite having a "bolt-on" neck. I love it !
