Default Peavey Predator

I just picked one up off of ebay the other day. So far i am very pleased with it. It was advertised as used with a few dings. I was expecting the worst but as i cringed as i opened the package, my first thought was. so far so good. I pull it out and inspect it and i am very happy with what i ended up with. It looks more like a used factory blem to me. The dings look more like small imperfections under the finish instead of dings. It plays nicely sut up decently already. I will probably lower the action but im gonna play it as is for now. It was almost perfectly in tune when i got it too. I dont know what i was more worried about, ordering a guitar on ebay or it being shipped UPS. I believe pics are mandatory in a thread like this right?

I love that color of blue, and it looks like it is ready to go play some thrash metal. Do you mind if I ask how much did it set you back?

i'm not sure why, but it seems a lot less loud than other humbucked "thrashy" strats.
it's quite subtle and contempt.
mhm I think it's mocking us with it's blue suede shoes...

Looks good - love the color. My son got an absolute steal in a 2001 PV HSS LTD custom shop back in May. Peavey makes some nice guitars.

I'm right up I 77 from you in Mount Airy. Why we're almost neighbors... lol

Enjoy...

I got it for $150 shipped. Not a great price for a used guitar but the have a new one at the local music store that i played a few times and really liked it. They want like $240 for that one.

Yeah, i noticed that when i got mine. I never noticed it when i played one in the music store. I guess it is just more obvious when you get it home and play it then play one of your other guitars. My Ibanez has heavier/harder sound to it. I like the Peavey so far though, and the blue is beautiful. Pictures just doesnt do it justice.

I'd say 150 is a good price

Is that Tar Heel Blue or Wildcat Blue ?

You can get them for around $200 almost anywhere.

They are a "foreign" made Peavey.
Unlike some others made here in MS.

Peavey has a pretty good selection at a low price.......

Hartley changes designs, colors, and models like his underwear.
Some of the early 2000 guitars are no longer made or available.

I like the locking nut and Floyd Rose tremolo system. Looks like a nice guitar for metal styles. Beautiful blue color. Did it come with a case?

No, i wasnt lucky enough to get a case with it. The color and the locking tremolo were big factors in the decision to buy it. I have never owned a Peavey guitar before this. For the money it is a very nice guitar IMHO.

FYI - If you want a RAPTOR or a PREDATOR be sure to look for the "3X3" headstock that is similar to the Wolfgangs.

If you get the PREDATOR with this headstock, it has floating tremolo, and Schaller locking tuners.

Since i got bit by the guitar bug, I now have the Squier, a Raptor Plus, and my wife (yes really) has a Raptor Plus.

Incredible sound out of these Guitars, and usually go for anywhere between $50 and $90.
