Not to my tastes but very cool.

What's the second one down, the body shape intrigues me... it's slightly off-Strat

I know. I'm sure I could help her to see the light regarding Strats. Much more feminine and sexy...
I do love the first one for sure. My wife is quite fond of angels (and NASCAR)...

the image on the double neck reminds me of led zeppelin's icarus logo.

Looks nice but not my style. I like simple things that work well.

At some point, you have to decide if it's a playing guitar or art that should be displayed.
Like this '51 that has been gathering dust on Ebay...

Cool? Yes! Worth $325? No way...

Again, not my taste but that is a f*cking excellent paint job! Tiz perversely fun looking

I'm still intrigued by that second one, it looks like it's slightly Burns-like...

Strat contours certainly have that lady thang. Look at the belly contour at the right angle with the curve of the Guitars top and you'll see that it looks a helluva lot like the curves of a woman... more so than a Les Paul and others. That Strat is a sexy instrument, I think that's an obvious fact never mind anyone being "attached" shall we say to their Guitars...

yeah, i dunno how i feel about painting a guitar in that manner. i love custom paint jobs...but more so in the design factor rather than having a figure painted on it. different works of art have their places on different media. for me, figures of women, or people in general, don't belong on the face of a guitar.

designs like bursts, crackles, some swirls, and/or car pin striping, those look good on guitars.

LOL she does kinda.. also... it must be cold on that tropical beach...
Art doesn't really work on a guitar as well as Inlay overkill. It is actually impractical and that makes such things on a Guitar unattractive to my immediate mind... I have to really think about it to appreciate the work instead of judging the point.

If you look at some more medieval Guitars, you notice they have waaaaaaay too much decoration. If you look at how they've worn and then consider the fact that no one wants to risk playing them, suddenly Inlay overkill is a bad idea. Big cool pictures on the front are also disadvantaged because they'll get worn off at certain places that may ruin the picture. Jerry Cantrell's G&L Rampage is a good example of how to decorate your Guitar as he put everything in places where you barely ever touch. That way it stays decorated for longer and avoids wear as best as it can.

You wouldn't string up and play a Picasso. You know exactly why.

Yes, I'm not much for either fancy paint jobs or overkill of any kind.

It is different though and not bad looking if I dare say so. I just wouldn't pay for it and instead use the money to mod the living daylights out of it.

That's just me though.

Lots of it is nice. It's just... How are you gonna feel when it gets buggered irreversibly? It's not worth what ensues... unless is purely for display purposes in which case f*ck it, make it art and put it on display in a sealed glass case. It works for those ancient Guitars, Lutes and Lyres of past Kings, they sure look great sitting around doing nothing. That's not sarcasm BTW, they really can't do anything else so why say they're crap for sitting.
Anywho, enough philosophy, this thread is probably going askew on an irrelevant tangent.

More angel guitar pics...
