I was in the local guitar store today doing the usual walk through and over heard a guy trying to sell his bass guitar. I have never owned a bass but have kinda wanted one for a while. They were basically (in my opinion) trying to BS this guy and give him next to nothing for his bass. I offered him $60 and he took it. Im not sure of the exact specs but it is a Johnson 5 string bass. Its almost brand new and even still has the protective film on the back electronics cover. Are Johnson basses any good? Did i actually get a good deal? Oh yeah, even got the strap with it too.

I think Johnson is just another brand name stuck on the headstock by an importer. I've seen their acoustics and such. Not bad stuff. Heck, looks like a steal for $60.

Congrats!

I don't know about basses but that quilt green top looks great.

I wonder if peskypesky has a poster for basses?

I think you probably got a great deal. I like the finish. And the strap is probably about USA $ 10 new. Does it sound good when you play along with recordings? Cause if it sounds good playing along with songs on the radio then it probably sounds good next to Gibsons and Fenders in real live situations.
