Default Great Acoustics for Folks in the Market

I had the opportunity to check out the line of Hohner Essentials today, a dreadnought, parlor, mini-jumbo, and classical. Very plain, simple, straightforward guitars with a very attractive price--right around $250. I must say, if anyone is in the market, do yourself a favor and check these out! Great action, great tone, and an Earvana nut to boot.

I haven't bought an Acoustic guitar since 1974. I bought an Alverez and it's been all that I've ever wanted from an acoustic. I was thinking about one day getting a Composite Acoustic, but I hear that they went out of business. shame. they were nice guitars.

Really? Hadn't heard that about Composite. If you're interested in carbon graphite guitars, I had heard that Rainsong is producing less expensive models now.

I had heard it somewhere and I asked the owner of one of my favorite guitar stores up here. at one time, he was one of their top sellers. something about Katrina destroying their new factory and the rest was downhill for the company. it's sad for me, because I'm from Louisiana. I'm getting back into electrics nowadays. so, the Alverez will be fine. I played acoustic for many years.

I picked up my new acoustic today! After playing a whole lot of guitars under $400 (Ibanez, Yamaha, Cheaper Martins and Takamines - others that I'm not remembering), I ended up picking up a Fender DG100 at GC for $249. I also received GREAT service the day I picked it out...the service can definitely be hit or miss over there.

I really liked how this one played compared to the rest...nice low action with no buzzing. I can reach the F chord about as easy as on my electric. It's also a very nice looking guitar. I apologize in advance for the computer pic:

I'll take some better ones after the weekend camping trip.
