ahhh, ,,, hope it's as yellow as the pics ! Rosewood neck, mint or tortoise-shell pickguard, Dimarzio Twangbuckers. Just some thoughts to ponder ... good luck ~!

Maple or rosewood, doesn't really matter to me..I have both as well as ebony.I kinda favor small frets on rosewood for the warmer jazzy stuff and medium jumbos on maple for traditional country and R&R.

Well she's here and she's definatly "yaller"..Very light yellow but still yellow. No biggie.I'll do somthing nice with it.Leaning towards rosewood FB with vintage size frets and tortoise PG.Dunno yet about pups but I'm thinkin' low output for super clean sound.Already got enough guitars with hot pups.

I'd go white guard, maple board (vintage tint?) and maybe a pair of Vintage Noiseless.

maybe jus go twang galore. have both pickups [B&N] be the shiny covered type and wire it with the Tele 5-way design; make it a 4-way Tele with the potential to easily emulate an Esquire [not difficult ] .

Jeff Beck-like Tele with 4-way Tele/Esquire hybrid wiring... I'm actually doing a similar project as it happens

I'd put a Gibson scale neck (like from a VM Thinline or Warmoth). Then with heavy-ish strings. Noiseless (SC-sized) humbucker in the neck. Concentric pots so you have volume and tone for each pup to balance the neck with the SC bridge.

I'd go with a white pickguard, but just a half-sized one leaving the neck pickup mounted in the wood or with a ring around it. With one of these.

Silver hardware, of course.

Then a Floyd Rose. (Just checking to see if you're reading this far) ;-)

I've got the neck comin'..Rosewood with vintage frets.
Just for giggles 'n grins I might make my own pickguard. But before i do anything about the PG I'll take it over to the local music store and see how some of the ones they have look.Last time I was there they had a nice assortment..The pups will definatly be low output.Don't need any more "hot" guitars.
In the meantime I've got 2 other projects ahead of it anyway so there's no hurry.

LOL! Is this off the top of your head or have you unleashed on ol' Papa Joe a build that you have been formulating in the privacy of your thoughts for a while?! It sounds kinda cool.

It just seemed to be what that body was telling me. I imagined myself being that body and what I'd want and, oh, never mind. Everyone's BS meter just went off the chart.

It's something I've thought about. Putting a Duncan P-Rails in the neck would be cool, too, but would require routing. And weird switching if you wanted to use all the options. And it might be too hot for what he wants.
