True Squier Believer New Member
Hi Folks,
My name is TJ. I am 48, living just outside of Knoxville, TN and I have been playing electric guitar for 38 years.. Wow, it sounds like a long, long time when I write it. lol
I am an ex full-time guitarist. I stopped playing on the road at around 30 and put down the guitar, except for an acoustic up until 2 years ago. It was my desire to start playing again and the fact that I didn't want to run out and pay a huge amount of money that led me to Squier Tele's. Now I am a huge fan of them. But, like most everyone else I swap out the pickups, tuners and have the guitar set up by someone who really knows frets, necks and pickups.
I currently have both CV 50's and 60's Teles. The CV 50's have Seymour Duncan Antiquity Tele pickups and Fender Schaller tuners. The tone of this guitar is amazing. I love the SD Antiquity picups. I am not sure if it gets any better than these. I have not modded the CV 60's Tele yet, but it is coming.
On the amp side I use the new Vox AC15C1 with a greenback in it. I adore the Vox tone. They really did a nice job updating the AC15CC Series when they released the C1.
I have a fairly nice pedal board, with several gem effects. My favorites being the Rocket Pedals Flex Drive. This gives me the best Plexi tone I personally have heard. Think Van Halen II or Malcolm Young and you have it. The other gems are the TC Electronics Nova Delay System and the MXR Hand wired 74 Reissue Phase 90. I have a EHX Holy Grail Plus and a Polytune tuner that I am also quite fond of.
I mainly blast in the living room these days, but my chops are coming back and the more I play the more I want to play out again. I am truly inspired and feel young once more. I love playing guitar.. Thank you Squier for making that affordable.
Nice to meet all of you,
TJ

Another Tennessean. Welcome from Lafayette. Your gonna like it here. I don't think you can have a question one of these guys hasn't got an answer for. This is the perfect place to experience massive GAS problems. You don't have to face it alone. lol
