Learned to play? I'm not sure I have learned any new songs since I got my Squier, but I think the first song I played on it when I got it was "Day Tripper."

I'm in the same boat as 3 Chord Hippie, Squier was still making strings when I learned to play a guitar in 1966. the first song that I learned to play on my old '59 Gretsch was "For What It's Worth" by the Buffalo Springfield. two chords - E and A. I actually showed my neighbor how to play "House of the Rising Sun" before I learned how to play it all the way through.

I didn't have a Squier as my first guitar (an Ibanez EX270 got that distinction) but my first song was "Hey Joe" as performed by Hendrix - I had already worked out the changes on the piano, so just messing with the vibe was all that was needed.

My first song learned to play was Come as you are by Nirvana but not on squier, on acoustic ;P
pretty easy song, almost all Nirvana's songs are pretty easy (for example About a girl, Come as you are) You can also try "Face" from anime BECK. but on clean sounds better, in my opinion

Pipeline, The Ventures version. Finally can play a complete song. Not very well yet but at least I can finish it. LOL
(Yes BeachBum its a Chantays song) (now I gotta check out more of the Pyramids too)
Started Apache by Hank Marvin and The Shadows. Need to find the tablature for it. I have the Ventures tab version but not sure its the same?
Started Smoke on the water back in the 70's on my friends strat. Should have kept it up. workin on Iron Man, Back in Black and Love Hurts too. Looks like Love Hurts is a bit easier to learn. Need to find Mustang amp settings for Nazareth tele, twang, sustain, chorus etc? E Bow?
Iron Man solo is tough for me, but kool. I'm rambling again. LOL

G-L-O-R-I-A. House of the rising sun. Secret Agent Man. Wipeout. I'm a believer. Honey. Woolly Bullie. Surfer girl. Bad boy (beatles version), Let it all hang out. etc. etc. I was in a garage band in the mid 60's. Truetone electric single pup solid body ($29.95 bought it on layaway with my allowance). Silvertone 2X12 100 watt tube amp $60.00 used. Oh I want to go back. lol

Yep.. I am that old... Smoke on the Water, when it was released live from Japan. That would put me at age 10 in 1973. Great time to be learning guitar. I bought a 57 Les Paul Jr in Nashville for $350.00 in 1976. Last weekend I saw one just like mine in Guitar Center for $9000.00

Snoopy vs the Red Baron by the Royal Guardsmen was the first song I learned by 45 record. It was a popular radio tune back in the 60's.

With all these posts it makes me feel like less of a fossil - my first electric (after the Kay acoustic and the Mel Bay guitar lessons I gave up on after a month) was a Teisco solid body that came with a 5 watt amp. Virtually unplayable but it looked cool - I limped my way through Smoke on the Water (only the riffs). I would say the real songs I learned were Who'll stop the rain, and Deep River Blues (Doc Watson lyrics).

Who'll Stop the Rain was the first song I learned if I remember right, though I didn't get my first Squier until 15 years later.

Baba O'Riley was my first...good old three chords! Als,o at about the same time, basic blues patterns -n- stuff. (Smoke on the Water and Ironman were in there somewhere too...it's all so long ago and kind of a blur as well...ha!)
I just had a cheap Fender acoustic....
oops i didn't mean to attach this pic
I wish i had learned on this...

Too funny! I remember this playing at our community pool and trying to hit on the 16 year old lifeguards (8th grade dreaming...). I forgot about Iron Man that may have been my first riff. Not too long after that there was all that crap about Richie Blackmore being better than Jimmy Page...

I Can't Explain by the Who. Played on my Harmony H22 bass.... It was 3 and a half notes.. How could I screw that up? Then I "Advanced" to Ramones songs... That was the best part of High School for me.

First rock & roll song I learned was Raw-Hide by Link Wray. (Not the theme song from the TV show) I also learned Apache when it hit the charts the first time in 1960 by the original artist of the song, Jorgen Ingmann. (Swedish, I think). That one took me a while to learn back in 1960, at 12 years old. Learned it on the new 1959 Danelectro I had just gotten.
