Default SQ Stratocaster Pickguard

Hello,
I am replacing the pickups, pots and pickguard on my 83 SQ Strat, and was wondering if anyone knows if any 62 reissue pickguard will work for me.. The current pickguard I believe is a 62 pickguard as it has the screw between the neck and middle pickup.. Any help would be greatly appreciated..
Thanks

it should fit on the guitar, but whether all the screw holes will line up perfectly is anybody's guess. it's not uncommon to have to drill at least some new holes to mount a different pickguard.

Assuming you mean the 70's spec SQ's (There are some 4 bolt versions):

I strongly suspect that a Fender reissue '62 pickguard would fit no problem (except you would have the addition of a small semi-circular notch where it meets the butt of the neck, normal for pre-CBS style Strats, but not present on the SQ's ....for obvious reasons).

I say "I strongly suspect" because these were made alongside the later 1983 '62 JV's, which have identical screw locations to the original Fender '62 models, and I see no reason why they would have drilled the SQ's any differently.

So not guaranteed I'm afraid, but I reckon a replacement would fit straight on (it's usually the later Squier bodies (60's CV's excluded) that have to be re-drilled).
