Its a Japanese Vintage Squier. It is a very good model. Keep it. But if you sell it, find me.

The first and most sought after Squier model, rare and worth around twice that of the Squier branded JV's (especially with a JV00xxx number!!! ).

Manufactured over a period of about 3 months (approx late April to July 1982).

Please post some photo's

Just a quick question VanHarald:

The serial number of your guitar is JV00123 right? Because if it has a six digit number, then there is a problem (JV's have only four or five digit numbers).

Thanx guys for information. Yes, there is only 5 digits I made a misstake when iI wrote the number down. And as I understand i´ts the expensiest as there were three options from Japan offered. Like, this one should be a 115 000 yen or what ever model included cellulosa lacqier finish and so on. Is that right? I provide some photos when i´m back in place.

Ah, are we (or am I) getting a bit confused here?

If your guitar has a 'roundel script' Squier decal on the tip (ball) of the headstock, then it will be one of the very first FJ (JV) models exported to the UK (thereafter exported via the UK to Europe and Canada)....just the first shipment, as all following shipments were Squier brand JV's (these are rarer than the ST-115 flagship domestic models).

If your guitar has the usual 'Original Contour Body' decal on the tip of the headstock, then it is an early domestic Fender JV and not a Squier series model. If it has a poly finish and a zinc alloy trem block, it will be a domestic Fender ST-65 (same spec's as later export Squier JV's). If it has a nitro finish it will be either a domestic ST-85 or an ST-115 (the ST-115 has American parts, whereas the other domestic Fender JV and export JV Squier models use American Pickups only.....The ST-85 has a steel block which may be of US origin).

In the UK the 1st issue Squier models are more sought after than domestic Fender ST-115 JV's (or at least used to be), and the value / price is greater for the Fender logo Squier models, but in some other countries the value / prices of both are similar.

Ok, I think it´s a ST-115 with a zinc block se picture. I´ve took the bridge away because the screws were so rusty that it were unpossible to unsrcrew. I have to make some repair, put some rustoil to it and so on. I made a small album 2 shots so you can look for yourself. i really appreciate your help

Can't see the pictures unfortunately, but if it has a zinc block then it is not an ST'62-115 (it will be an ST'62-65...assuming it has not been tampered with, but then why change a steel block for a zinc one?).

If it is an ST-115 model, it will have a red 'A' stamp in the neck pocket. A red 'B' stamp indicates an ST-85 and a red 'C' Stamp indicates an ST-65 (Same production stamp as a 1982 export Squier brand JV...some 83's too).
