Default What amps and what mods?

Just curious what type of amps you guys/gals are running? WHat sort of mods (amp or guitar) are you folks into? I've owned many amps, guitars, and cabs many over the years and have really fallen in with my Marshall DSL 50 and my two Peavey VTM's. Tube amps, speaker cabs, and tinkering with tubes have almost become a secondary hobby to playing itself...I know my playing suffers but hey...at least what I can play sounds good right!

Any who...my Marshall is pretty much stock except for a Mecury Magnetics output transformer that I installed.

The VTM's were a recent purchases. They stopped making them in the early 90's but they are 100% Made in the USA pure valve tone. I've got less than $400 invested in both from a purchase perspective.

The VTM 60 I had modded for EL34's and bias circuit installed. Really brought a better crunch even closer to the JCM800 2204 with more gain on tap.
The 120 is bone stock and will stay that way. It has a mojo all it's own.

Epi LP Custom replaced stock pups for a SD JB/Jazz combo and had to replace the mini pots.

Even my Squier is highly modded. I replaced the tuners with Sperzel locking tuners. Not being a single coil guy I've used various single coil sized humbuckers over the years SD Hot Rails and currently I have a JB JR. The 5 way switch was replaced with a switch craft. The nut was replaced with a roller nut and the locking nut and string trees removed. A by pass toggle was installed to cut the guitar on and off ala Tom Morello.

Future mods planned...Resonant mod for the VTM 60. X pattern of G12T75's and V30's in two of my 3 cabs. Have the JB JR rewired and coil tapped for SC operation. That should get me through to January!
