Default Gotta wah, have some questions...

Hey, gang.

I've decided after all these decades, I want a wah pedal. Nothing fancy, just for practice around the house.

So, I came across 2 auto wah's: the Dano French Fries and the Behringer Ultra Wah 300.

I checked out the Dano on youtube and it is FUNKY...just the sound I'm looking for.

I couldn't find anything good for the UW300...even the manufacturers website doesn't seem to offer much.

So, does anyone out there have experience with either one? If so, what do you think?

Any info would be greatly appreciated. And, oh yeah...I'm only interested in these 2 for now.

Thanks!

Strictly speaking, neither of these is a wah-wah pedal -- there's no pedal to manually control the tone, which makes these what we used to call an envelope follower, which varies the wah based on the amplitude (loudness) of your signal. I never cared much for those.

I'd much rather have an actual wah pedal, something like the Vox 845 Classic Wah. That'll get you that authentic Clapton/Hendrix wah sound.

True...that's whyI said I found 2 auto-wah's! Ha!

Anyway, I may check that out. At this point, I'm just thinking. Never used one much in the past and hey...we can all use another effect, right?

Thanks, dude.

behringer makes a wah pedal that i find comparable to a standard crybaby, but it only runs $30. may not be gig tough, but if you're just practicing in the bedroom, it works great.

Yeah..it's gonna be for practice. I found the pedal (HB01) on Amazon and I'm gonna order it when I get home.

It got much better reviews than either auto-wah.

Thanks, all!
