So, What Pedals Do You have ?
I have a Boss CH-1 Super Chorus, a Boss PH-3, a Korg "Pitchblack" tuner, and a Crybaby Wah Wah pedal. I tried to stay away from a board. but once when I was at a jam session and the battery went dead and nothing was coming out of the amp, it was time for a change. so, I use a pedalboard from Gator cases. it has the power unit underneath the board and everything is hidden except for the pedals. and it has it's own carrying case for one neat little package.
so, what have y'all came up with for effects pedals ?

not much of a pedal guy, but when i played punk in my teens i loved my Big Muff.
these days, when i play through amps i occasionally use my Vox Wah and my Boss OD-3 Overdrive.
but most of the time, i play through my computer using the awesome Line 6 POD Studio UX1. Love that thing to death. Love it.

It depends what I'm playing at the time, Usually I have a Boss ME 20 between the guitar and amp, but often find that I only use it for the tuner and mute. If I'm playing a borrowed amp and/or trying to get reasonably accurate tone for covers then the ME20 has patches for songs and copies of 'my' amp settings so I can plug into virtually any clean amp.
I also have a Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster (which I mostly use as a dry boost, often with my electro acoustic) and a Danelectro Cool Cat Fuzz for when I really want to wig out on some 60's and 70's sounds.

I have an 80's Pro Co Rat, a Peavey Dual Clock Chorus, a Boss CS-3 compressor, a DigiTech PDS 1000 digital delay, a Danelectro Cool Cat CT-1 Tremolo, and Danelectro Cool Cat CTO-1 Transparent Overdrive, and a Zoom GFX-3 effects processor. I just picked up a pair of Behringer HellBabe wah wah's on a two-for one special at AMS - both for 40 bucks. They're okay. You have to get used to them a little because they work with an optical sensor rather than a pot. It is definitely usable. Cool thing is it has a built in boost and there are a bunch of adjustments such as the range of tone in the notch and the volume of boost. If you take your foot off it goes to bypass and you can adjust the length of time it takes to bypass. I really only ever use one of the distortion pedals and the compressor, sometimes the tremolo. The Zoom is fun to play around with and the digital delay has an infinite repeat function that is kind of the forerunner of the loop station. It will keep playing any passage you put into it until you stop it, but you can't really change it or add to it. I mostly just plug my Tele right into the amp. If I want tremolo I'll hook up the pedal since my amp has none. I'm not really a pedal geek.

I have a 'Toy Box' full of stomp boxes that I rarely use. Impulse buys mostly!. I use my Boss GT3 all of the time though. The control over the sounds is the best thing about multi fx, but when you change over to diffrent guuitars you can have the right sound for that instrument already set up. No fiddling about at your feet in the dark. Some time I will upgrade to the GT10....really I must!

I'd love to be able to run straight into the amp, but I'm afraid I don't have the chops to make that sound interesting for 3-4 hours, so here's my gig board:

Guitar > Dunlop Cry Baby wah > Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde OD/Distortion > Danelectro Cool Cats Trem > Behringer Analog Delay > BBE Sonic Stomp > Amp
(on top there's an A/B switch to the Fender tuner)

Morley Classic Wah.
err . .err .. Behringer (there - I said it ) Compressor/Sustainer (pretty good - no, really!)
Behringer Tube Overdrive TO100 (also 'damn good! - no really')
yeah OK, I get some Tone suck. .. But thats from the Morley!
Currently on the hunt for a decent Fuzz - one that cleans up nicely to 'Little Wing' tone on vol roll-back (so .. not a Muff! .. nor a Behringer )

I have a Gator cases pedal board without the power supply. I added an adjustable regulated power supply, built into my amp. My boxes are: Korg Pitchblack tuner> MXR Phase 90> MXR Super Comp> Fulltone Fulldrive II Mosfet> Boss EQ-7> Voodoo Labs Tremolo> EHX Electric Mistress> Boss '63 Reverb. I put it all together in the last 3 months.
I am pretty happy with the results. It did take some time to determine the pedal order & the learning curve involved with getting alot of pedals in a short period of time. It seems to be pretty complete for my needs. I may decide later on to get an MXR Carbon Copy delay. For now I am happy.

Jimmy how do you like that Gator pedal board ? I've got one, too. but I used their power supply. what amp are you using ? I have an old '66 Gibson that has a very strong reverb and tremolo. so, that's 2 less pedals that I need.

I have these pedals:
Danelectro Cool Cat Drive
Danelectro Cool Cat Distortion
Danelectro Fish n Chips Equalizer
Boss BD-2 Bluesdriver
DOD FX52 Classic Fuzz
ElectroHarmonix Double Muff
ElectroHarmonix Big Muff
Behringer Vintage Time Machine delay (coming in the mail soon)
I also use software amp modelers on the computer when I play, nearly always it's Amplitube 2 (with the Amplitube Fender, Hendrix and Metal add-ons). So on that I have a huge variety of wahs, phasers, delays, fuzz and other pedals.

As of now I have a Digitech RP90 that rocks and a Crybaby wah. After Christmas a Digitech Hardwire Delay is a definite. Within the next six months I plan to have the following: 1. Digitech bad monkey (possibly modded), 2. modded Boss DS1 or another good distortion, 3. a MXR phaser. That should get me a nice rig.

If it's the Behringer DC9, that one is supposed to be a good one. That's their Dynacomp clone.

Bunch of noisy stuff mostly!
The much maligned Boss Turbo Overdrive which I use to push an old heavy Metal pedal, does a great Marshall sound in that combo! A Ross Distortion which is not good at 9 volts but is great at about 6volts, so it has it's own power supply. EH Big Muff Pi (Russian, which I prefer, but changed out the crap jacks ) Pignose Detonator which is great with high output pups or with another pedal pushing it. Two Cry-Babys one old 70's and a modern one, I like the noise, what can I say? A 70's EH Small Stone, Boss OC-2 Octave pedal, Peterson Strobo-Stomp MK I, a Line 6 DL4, Boss LS-2 Line switcher and a Barber Tone Press.
I think that's it.

I was only going to use the Fulldrive, tremolo & '63 reverb. I saw the used pedal board for $40 in my local store, so I couldn't pass it up. After I got it home I saw that I had space for 6 more pedals so I expanded. The board did not come with the power supply. I really like it & the canvas bag is great.
My amp is a Crate V5. Picked it up as a close out for $99. I tried some mods to improve the tone & did one mod too many (burned the board & blew up the tubes). The onlly thing to do was start from scratch. I designed an amp circuit to fit the original transformers. The power transformer has a 14v tap for the op amp circuit that I eliminated. I got the bright idea to use that tap for a 9v supply. I did some research & built the circuit. I run all 8 pedals from the output. I also added an amp cooling fan to the circuit. It sounds really clean & I only need 1 outlet to power my rig.

Tone Press isn't noisy I bet I settled for a DOD Milk Box, but the Tone Press is on my wish list.

Had a Line6 POD XT, traded that for a Peavey Prowler tube amp. Just got a pedal for Christmas, a Carl Martin Red Repeat. got a couple more in mind and a gator powered board. Next will be a Seymore Duncan Double Back Compressor and a Carl Martin Surf Trem. I guess I have a DOD Distortion and a Flanger somewhere in a drawer, should put those on the bay. Oh yeah and I got a zoom that I limp by on when I need to use head phones. I like to keep it as simple and pure as possible.

OK OK! .. i know, I'm quoting myself ! ..
Well, I stand corrected!
I added an EHX Double Muff (mmm .. two Muffs )
Actually it is not two Muffs (that would be crazy!) its two 'Muff Fuzz's ' (the vintage EHX style- before the Big Muff). And they are cascaded.
It gets very hairy (whoa! no Muff jokes at this particular juncture per-lease ) when both are on full crank mind.
I use it set full bore on single Muff Mode though.
Its actually a kinda clean boost used that way! - no really - until you open the Guitar vol pot flat out, and then the hounds of hell arrive pretty darned quick.
Really versatile!
Roll the guitar vol back a bit and it cleans up to a 'Little Wing' kinda tone - or Black Crowes-esque chord sound.
Roll it back more and its almost totally clean with a glassy edge.
Volume is not so much affected, but rather the effect is.
Great! - Really pleased with it.
True bypass too. and new at £35 Bargain!
Though, it does have a personality disorder - it has to be absolutely first in the chain. Otherwise it wont do the do that it does. Much like many vintage design fuzz's I guess.
Thought I'd post a (very) mini-review rather than ' heres a list of my stomps'.
Just a thought - perhaps a few more of us could throw some thoughts down for others to read?.
Would be cool to hear about (and why) recommended stomps - especially those that dont cost a bomb.. but are actually da bomb
We all love a good deal eh? - otherwise we wouldnt hang out 'here' !

Here are my pedals...
Ibanez DE7 delay
Ibanez TS7 tubescreamer set to imulate the TS9
Rocktron Classic Wah
Korg Toneworks Ampworks modeler
DBX 266 Comp/Gate rack mounted
Studio Projects VTB1 tube preamp
I set this up to use with a Crate GTD15R which is a solid state amp. I don't really like the sound of the amp so I got the Ampworks amp modeler and the VTB1 to warm it up a bit that combo works good. I recently got a vintageTube amp Peavey Triumph 120 w/1x12 cabinet and don't use those two items with it because it sounds awesome as is. I use all the pedals as needed but I really like the sound of the guitar plugged into the amp. The amp has three channels clean/crunch/ultra gain so with the use of the volume control on the guitar it kinda does it all... and well.
***JUST PLAY***

Currently I have a Crybaby->DynaComp->bypass switch->Tubeulator->DS-1->TS-9DX->DynaComp->Phase 90->DD3->Peavey ValveKing 112

A POD 2.0 with a modified chip and a floor POD. I have a Danelectro Cool Cat, but I don't use it much. I don't use a lot of distortion so the PODs give me the edgy or clean sounds I'm looking for.

I use one.
Sometimes.
Sometimes i like it
& sometimes i don't.
My current & usual
board goes like this:
BOSS TU-2 Tuner
MXR Dynacomp
Dunlop Original Crybaby
BOSS HR-2 Harmonist
MXR Phase 90
BOSS SD-1 Super Overdrive (OR a BOSS BD-2 Blues Driver)
BOSS HM-2 Heavy Metal
Ernie Ball Volume Pedal (sometimes)
BOSS DD-3 Digital Delay
Other various items i've
got in the stockpile are:
Dunlop JH-4S Rotovibe
Dunlop Tremelo Stereo Pan
Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi
BOSS DF-2 Super Distortion & Feedbacker
MXR Distortion III
I feel like i'm forgetting some odds & ends but that's
mostly what i've got it boiled down to these days.
I've got a Nady wireless thing that
i've always liked the sound of too.
I'm sure some will think it's Tone blasphemy, but i actually like
how it affects (& effects) the signal from the guitar, which is a
6db boost that the Nady wireless pack gives it's transmission.
I find this lends itself well to using the stompboxes & i'll
use that from time to time, depending on the situation.
It's also nice just for the freedom of not being tied down
or getting tangled up by a regular cable that it gives me.
I like that a lot.
At times, it's even been just the trick in the studio & i've used it
quite often for the 6db boost as kind of a stompbox of it's own.
Call me crazy, but i like my cheap, old Nady.
Just for sh*ts & giggles, i've attached a pic
of the craziest pedalboard i've ever had.
It worked fine, but access
to things was maddening.
I used it for one show.
Built by a drummer... which explains a lot.
It was dubbed "The Beast", for obvious reasons.
And that's my story.
And my pedal stuff.

Well things changed a bit since then. I got two new pedals: the EHX Worm and EHX Stereo Pulsar.
I don't have a pedalboard yet. I play only at home so this budget board works perfect for me.
Double Muff, Big Muff, Worm XO, Stereo Pulsar XO, Vintage Time Machine, Fish n Chips EQ.
I only started getting into effects this year (besides having my OD pedals), and I think my gear is good for a poor unemployed guy like myself.

I've had many over the years but have moved away from them. The only one I have left that I use is a Boss RC-2 Loop Station. I've also got a Tech 21 SansAmp Tri AC that I'll be selling in the near future. The only pedal I sold and regret is an Ibanez TS-9 Tubescreamer. I'll be replacing that one.

I have a Delta Labs DGFX1. Guitar effects box/pedal. It can do too many things. I use it with my Telecaster. It is great for playing Queen, my Tele sounds like Brian Mays red hand made furnace. For the Stones it makes my Tele sound like a Tele. Too many things
to play with, 58 effects pluse combo. Fun!

Your Vox Tone lab is a great looking unit. I have never seen one before. Can you still get them? I have a Delta Labs DGFX1. It can do a lot of things, but it is not a Vox.

I don't use any pedals right now. I have had lots of different ones in years past, including an MXR PHase 100; various Electro-Harmonix units including the Deluxe Electric Mistress flanger (loved that), the Doctor Q envelope filter, Screaming Bird treble booster and the Switchblade channel selector; the Roland AP-2 phaser and AP-7 Jet Phaser; the Boss Stereo Chorus, graphic EQ and digital delay, and probably some more that I've forgotten.
The one that I wish I still had out of all of them is the Jet Phaser. It had two footswitches -- one is the normal bypass switch, and one switches the speed of the phaser from whatever you have the speed set to to its maximum speed, and it changes the speed gradually, so you can leave the speed control turned all the way down and get a Leslie speaker effect as it "spins up." VERY cool. I think I paid $59 or something for one in 1977 or so -- now they run $400 on eBay, IF you can find one.
