I had one of the first Watkins copycats. For about 25 years I used it a a pre amp recording and live. I traded it for a Jazz bass which I no longer have. Maybe my Marshall Super 100 which was my first decent amp. It had not much bottom end and was bloody tempremental. I had to put a humbucker in my strat bridge position, but in the right circumstances with the wind blowing in the right direction it sounded really rather good. I swapped that head for a JCM800 bass head and have stuck with the 800's till this day.
