Yeah, the J&D guitars seem to be good value for the money (although if I remember correctly, I think they had a few more options last year, at least there were some different colours)
The FretCity people appear to be cool guys too. A canadian member on offsetguitars dot com, did a "test drive" of one of the J&D's and wrote a review here:

To BillStickers: Here's a guy who converted a Jagmaster, with a very good result, IMO. I've always thought there is a bit too much empty space behind the bridge on the Jagmaster, putting on a Jazzmaster trem is a nice solution to that!
